Australian Defence Apparel leads industry with ISO 27001 certification for data privacy.

Australian Defence Apparel leads the industry with ISO 27001 certification for data privacy.

December 2020, The achievement of ISO27001 certification will make ADA (Australian Defence Apparel) the first clothing manufacturing company in Australia to be awarded the highest level of security standards for information security management.

ISO27001 is one of the most widely recognised and internationally accepted information security standards. It identifies requirements for a comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS) and defines how organisations should manage and handle information in a secure manner, including appropriate security controls.

The certification will govern how we as a company protect our customer information, how we manage processes and our technology within the ADA.

"Not only does this certification validate our commitment and investment to the highest level of security standards, but it also signals to our customers, partners, and future customers that ADA will provide assurance, confidence, trust & peace of mind when handling sensitive data." said Chris Dixon, CEO at Australian Defence Apparel.

The ISO27001 certification fosters trust and demonstrates an ongoing commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and availability with the requirements for the protection of personally identifiable information (PII).

“At ADA we take data protection and security very seriously, cyber-attacks and data breaches are on the rise and information security is of the uppermost importance. ADA has achieved certification under the ISO 27001 Information Security standard as part of its proactive, market-leading and constantly evolving approach to information and data security.  ADA hopes that this will continue to provide our current and prospective customers with confidence that we take the stewardship of customer data very seriously, as we do with the security of ADA's uniform ordering portals and the internal systems that we run. Said David Connors, Head of Information Technology at ADA.

“Certification to ISO27001 recognises that ADA has achieved all the requirements of the standard for establishing industry best practice privacy controls strengthening our integrated management systems.” said Narelle Dimopoulos Compliance Manager at ADA.

In order to achieve the certification, ADA’s compliance was validated by SAI Global - an independent audit firm after demonstrating an ongoing and systematic approach to managing and protecting the company and customer data.
